Bangor Elks Golf Tournament
The Bangor Elks Lodge #1106 held its 14th annual Memorial Tournament on June 30th at Whitetail Golf Club.
First flight winners were Brian Malone, Mike Hopstetter, and Al Schafer. Second flight winners were Craig Dally, Pat Sabatino, Ron Sandt, and Harry Smith.
Third flight winners were Bill Randolph, Charlie Nutiatis, Bud Freeman, and Norm Chimielwski.
The lodge would like to extend a sincere thank you to our 60 hole sponsors, 127 golfers, individuals or businesses who donated prizes, the volunteers, and the eight lodge member committee for making the tournament an outstanding success.

Summer Swimming Lessons
Summer Swim Lessons for children ages 3 years and older will be held at Bangor Memorial Park Pool, June 24th through July 10th. Classes will run on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Rain-day make ups will be, July 15th and 17th. Children will learn the fundamentals of swimming, and have fun while doing it.

Walking Purchase to Walking Bridge
The Slate Belt Heritage Center will hold their monthly historic presentation on Thursday, July 10th At 7:00 PM. Speaker for the evening will be local historian Walter Emery whose title will be: Mt. Bethel and Portland.
"Walking Purchase to Walking Bridge". Mr. Emery will include information and pictures on the origin of the name Mt. Bethel as well as industries and means of transportation.
