Da Vinci's Eggcellent Adventures![]() The highlight of the weekend is the Egg Drop Challenge. Visitors employ various engineering and design tactics to build their very own contraption to protect an egg from going splat when it's released from a 19-foot-high balcony.
“The Egg Drop Challenge has been a favorite of our guests for many years,” said Tyler Groft, Museum Education Manager for the Da Vinci Science Center. “It’s a family friendly hands-on activity that emphasizes problem solving skills and basic principles of engineering and physics. It’s great to see so many kids smile as they explore the concepts of gravity, force, and acceleration.” Guests will also have the opportunity to see baby chicks hatch and explore the world around them and visit with bunnies from Emily’s barnyard. Emily is a 9-year-old girl with a love for animals who collaborates with 4-H to raise bunnies. Science Center educators will guide visitors through hands-on experiments to create a Flinker, an object that neither sinks nor floats, but suspends in the middle of water. Visitors will learn about buoyancy as they attempt to make an egg suspend in the middle of a container of water. Eggcellent Adventures programming is included with general admission and is available to visitors on Friday, April 19; Saturday, April 20; and Monday, April 22 from 10 am to 4:30 pm. The Science Center remains open until 5 p.m. each day. Eggcellent Adventures is made possible with the generous support of Crayola.

Bangor Library New Books
Fine Policy For Kids
The Bangor Public library is happy to announce a new policy for kids to take responsibility for their own fines. Starting now if a junior patron (ages 15 years old or under) owes fines on their card only they may read their fines away. The junior patron will be required to read at the library in front of one of the staff members. Junior patrons will fill out a reading log; every half hour that they read will equal $1.00 off their fines. Fines can only be read off junior patron cards. The library believes that with this new policy junior patrons will learn responsibility as well as filling in the reading gap that so many kids face today. For more information please contact the library at 610-588-4136 March 28
