Anthracite Arts on Fire Weekend Scranton, PA-- The Anthracite Heritage Museum is thrilled to announce expanded events for Arts on Fire Weekend 2019. This annual free arts festival returns to the Scranton Iron Furnaces this June with a renewed focus on industrial arts, demonstrations, and interactive programs.
The festival is scheduled for June 8th from 11 am to 5 pm and will feature working artists demonstrating their crafts, hot metal, hot glass, and many other activities. This year we will have the Keystone Ironworks running a foundry cupola, melting iron and casting artwork. Scratchblocks will be available for purchase and visitors will be able to create their own cast iron artwork. For the first time, the event will feature a Saturday happy hour from 5pm – 7pm featuring the band Dashboard Mary. Food, beer, and wine will be available. Civil War Weekend Civil War Weekend will be held at Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm June 22 & 23, 2019 at 10 AM – 5 PM, 347 Quiet Valley Rd, Stroudsburg, The 142nd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Co. G, Re-enactor encampment is a living history presentation. They portray as accurately as possible the drill and everyday life of soldiers in the 1800’s.
