The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect. The warning is for Eastern Pennsylvania and much of northern New Jersey for heavy snow accumulation of 12 to 18 inches and strong winds. Snow begins Monday evening from southwest to northeast across the warning area, becoming heavy at times with snowfall rates of one to two inches per hour late Monday night and Tuesday morning. Snow will diminish by Tuesday evening. The heavy snow will make travel difficult or impossible late Monday night and Tuesday. Northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. One quarter mile or less at times, especially Tuesday morning. Temperatures generally in the 20s.

Season three began December 28 at the Hanover nest. The cameras and audio equipment installed for the 2016 season continue to provide excellent views and audio of this eagle family. The live stream began December 17, 2016 shortly after the installation of two new cameras and audio equipment. Eggs were laid on February 18 and 21. March 28 one of the eggs hatched; the nestling died two days later, perhaps injured by a branch being moved in the nest. The other egg never hatched and remained n the nest until May 23 when one of the adults removed the remnants from the nest. On this day in 2003, 15-year-old Elizabeth Smart is finally found in Sandy, Utah, nine months after being abducted from her family’s home. Her alleged kidnappers, Brian David Mitchell, a drifter who the Smarts had briefly employed at their house, and his wife, Wanda Barzee, were charged with the kidnapping, as well as burglary and sexual assault.
In the middle of the night on June 5, 2002, Elizabeth Smart, then 14 years old, was taken at knifepoint from her bedroom in her parents’ house in the upscale Federal Heights neighborhood of Salt Lake City. Her captor slid into the house undetected after cutting open the screen of an open window. Elizabeth’s younger sister, Mary Katherine, with whom she shared her bedroom, was the only witness to the kidnapping. Mary Katherine did not inform her parents until two hours after the incident, frightened that the man might return for her if she called out to alert them. Can You Believe It?Man riding Scooter Run Over by Truck
. March 10 (UPI) -- A man riding a motorized scooter on a busy Chinese street had a lucky escape from injury when he was struck by a truck that passed over his entire body.
Traffic camera footage from the road in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, shows the man attempt to drive his motorized scooter past the front of a stopped truck. The truck, out of video of the man, begins to pull forward in the same direction as the scooter. The video shows the truck hit the scooter and its rider disappears beneath the larger vehicle. Once the truck passes, the man can be seen picking himself up off the ground after apparently dodging the truck's tires. The man collects his scooter and leaves without apparent injuries. Money may be escaping out your windows. “I encourage homeowners to think of the hot and cool spots throughout their homes,” said Darrell Smith, Executive Director of the nonprofit International Window Film Association (IWFA). “These are indicators of areas that can be addressed to help boost a home’s efficiency.” Full window replacement may not be the most cost-effective means for improvement. “A professional installation of window film can provide the same—if not more—benefits for homeowners as complete window replacements,” said Smith. “In addition, a film installation can often be completed without a major disruption in use of the rooms.” According to Smith, the potential savings per dollar can be seven times that of the installation of new windows. On average, an installation on a single-family home may range from $4 to $12 per square foot, depending on the type of window film installed. Dish soap and warm water are once again a good solution for wiping down these areas. 3. Dust ceiling fans and wall art. Use a microfiber dusting cloth to wipe down fan blades, artwork and photographs. 4. Freshen Up Window Treatments. Vacuum blinds with a brush attachment. Wooden blinds can be wiped with a gentle wood cleaner; plastic and metal blinds can be removed and bathed in a solution of warm water and dish soap. 5. Clean Out Kitchen Cabinets. First, take everything out of the cabinets and wipe down the insides. Next, sort plastic storage containers and throw out any that are stained or missing lids. BHS Class of 1986 Scholarship A memorial scholarship was established in 1997 by the Bangor Area High School Class of 1986 to honor the memory of deceased classmates. It is named in Gary Moffett's honor because he not only served as Class Treasurer, but he also touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know him. They have since dedicated this memorial scholarship to recognize other classmates who have passed in recent years: David Pritchard, Cherry Oyer Klinger, Frank Lisovich, Melissa Fox Niceforo, and Kelly Cory.
A scholarship award of $500.00 will continue to be presented annually to a member of the graduating senior class at Bangor High School who best exemplifies the qualities which Gary embodied -- leadership, friendship, service, character, and scholastic achievement. The recipient is chosen by Gary's wonderful and loving family, and is announced during Commencement. Pen Argyl, PA – State Senator Mario Scavello will continue his Healthy Living Series in partnership with Lehigh Valley Health Network to offer a free A1C Diabetes Screening at his Pen Argyl District Office on Tuesday, March 14 from 10 AM to 2 PM (2 N. Robinson Avenue, Pen Argyl).
The A1C test is a blood test that provides information about a person’s average levels of blood glucose, also called blood sugar, over the past three months. The A1C test is sometimes called the hemoglobin A1c, HbA1c, or glycohemoglobin test. The A1C test is the primary test used for diabetes management and diabetes research.

Pen Argyl, PA – State Senator Mario Scavello will continue his Healthy Living Series in partnership with Lehigh Valley Health Network to offer a free A1C Diabetes Screening at his Pen Argyl District Office on Tuesday, March 14 from 10 AM to 2 PM (2 N. Robinson Avenue, Pen Argyl).
The A1C test is a blood test that provides information about a person’s average levels of blood glucose, also called blood sugar, over the past three months. The A1C test is sometimes called the hemoglobin A1c, HbA1c, or glycohemoglobin test. The A1C test is the primary test used for diabetes management and diabetes research.

The Blue Mountain Community Library will be holding a “Library Night at Wendy’s” Fundraiser on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Wendy’s Restaurant, route 512, Wind Gap, PA will generously donate a portion of all sales that night to the Library in Pen Argyl. The fundraiser will include dine-in, take-out and drive-through orders. Please consider supporting the Blue Mountain Community Library by purchasing a meal from Wendy’s. The money will be used to purchase new books and to meet the many expenses associated with maintaining the building. Fundraiser for BAHS Band Member
A fundraiser to benefit Bangor band member Elizabeth Goffinet's AMA trip to Europe to represent the band will be held at the Bangor Elks Sunday, May 7 from 4-8pm. Tickets include food and drinks, entertainment, 50/50 sold the day of the event.Tickets are $20.00

AMA is the American Music Abroad. It is comprised of musicians from High Schools from PA and New Yotk and are recommended by the school Band Director
