Third Annual Operation ID Bicycle Engraving
The Bangor Block Watch will be hosting its Third Annual Operation ID bicycle engraving event on May 30th, 2015. The event will be held at the Bee Hive at 197 Pennsylvania Avenue from 12–3 pm and is free to the public. Bangor residents are encouraged to bring all of their families’ bicycles to be engraved with a unique identification number. Numbers will be kept in a database and provided to the Bangor Police Department. This will help in identification should the bicycle become stolen or missing. The goal of the Operation ID bicycle engraving event is to aid authorities in identifying and returning missing or stolen bicycles to their rightful owner. The program also aims to serve as a deterrent to potential bike thieves.
This program is the result a study by the Bangor Block Watch which conducts meetings and neighborhood canvasses to identify community issues and promote crime prevention. A concern echoed by many residents during the Block Watch canvasses was theft of both children and adult bicycles. For more information, go to www.facebook.com/BangorBlockWatch.

HOME....Boost Your Home's Curb Appeal
(BPT) - Spring and summer continue to be the most popular months for selling your home, according to Realtor.com. And with many homeowners staying in their houses for an average of 13 years, your home will surely need some sprucing up to add to its curb appeal. By following a these simple steps, you can increase your home’s value without breaking the bank.
Rejuvenate the outdoor living area. Before making a trip to your local home center, make sure to wash the dirt, mildew and general grime off the outside of your house. A power washer is a great tool to help clean siding and renew the surface of decks. A good washing will also bring out the true color of a beautiful flagstone walkway or patio. Invest in the best tools for the job. One of the most useful tools in creating curb appeal is a hose. From power washing your deck and siding to maintaining your lawn and garden, your hose takes more abuse than any other tool. The Gilmour Flexogen hose is perfect for a variety of outdoor applications and is the strongest hose in its class. Its durable eight-layer construction is ideal for homeowners who put their tools to the test season after season. Give your yard a manicure. When its best features are hidden by an overgrown lawn or shrubs, your home can appear uninviting. It is recommended to regularly mow grass to a length of two and a half to three inches. This not only helps the grass to grow, but it also provides for a thicker lawn to prevent weeds. Adding landscaping bricks around the border of your garden and flowerbeds also gives your lawn a more premium look. Add seasonal color with the right vegetation. When choosing plants and flowers, consider what they will look like during different times of the year. For an all-season curb appeal, plant shrubs and flowers that offer colorful fall foliage or leaves with unique textures when not in full bloom. To help you get the best visual results, scout out the ideal locations around your yard before planting. Be sure to account for areas that are always in the sun or are well-shaded. Maintain the look. One of the key steps to preserving a healthy lawn and garden is to provide at least one inch of water per week through a regular watering schedule. You’ll want to choose a hose that has the durability to last even after you’ve moved into your new home. Gilmour Flexogen’s patented construction allows for all-weather performance and delivers maximum functionality in temperatures as low as 45 degrees Fahrenheit. For additional watering and gardening tips, visit www.facebook.com/GilmourGardenAndWatering. Dog Strapped to CyclistShawn White, who posted the video to YouTube, said in the post he was a passenger in a car traveling on Interstate 15 in the western United States when he "saw the schnauzer doing 70 mph." White said the "insane" sight made him "want a dog and a motorcycle and dog goggles!" Ask The Doc........
Let's Talk Adjectives
by Dr. Gary Williams, DMD
garywilliamsdmd.com Invisible, comfortable, corrective, clear, precise, inexpensive, beautifying, and empowering. I bet you rarely think of those adjectives, and dentistry in the same sentence. However, that is exactly what you get with one of dentistry’s latest tools. I’m talking about Invisalign, clear aligner therapy to place your teeth in the proper position for a life –time of good oral health. This comfortable way to align teeth is proving to be very successful, and at Family Dental Care, Dr. Gary Williams, and staff are seeing such good results, that we think it deserves special attention. We are reserving 10 spots, on April 23rd, for those interested in improving their oral health. I believe so much in this treatment, that on that day, I will “pitch-in” and pay for some of your treatment. Together, you and I can give you the smile that you have always wanted. Call soon, appointment spots are limited. (610)863-8988. Slate Belt Senior Center
