The Forgetting Time by Sharon Guskin Jerome Anderson is a professor of psychiatry who has been diagnosed with a deadly disease which will slowly take away his command of words, ending in death. He is writing a book which has case histories of people who seem to have been reincarnated into young children. A woman named Janie comes to him with her 4-year-old son Noah who insists he is Tommy and wants to go back to his mother. He is terrified of water and has terrible nightmares that he is being held under water. The three go on an adventure to find out why he knows things he can’t possibly know about this missing boy. Master Guitar Builder Info Northampton Community College (NCC) will hold a free information session about its luthier guitar certification program on Wednesday, August 3, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at its Fowler Family Southside Center, 511 E. NOTTINGHAM, England, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- A British fitness enthusiast posted a video of herself pole dancing with one very unusual twist -- she was in labor at the time.
Kat Bailey, owner of PoleKat Fitness in Nottingham, England, posted a video to Facebook Sunday showing her getting one last pole dancing session in before heading to the hospital to give birth. "So...I'm officially in labor :) Got a few hours before we go to the hospital so thought I'd do some pole between contractions," Bailey wrote in the video's description. The expectant mother's condition doesn't seem to impede her strength or flexibility. .

(BPT) - Light-emitting diode (LED) light bulbs have transformed home lighting since coming on the market. Despite proven benefits that far outweigh older lighting options, like incandescent and compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs, many people remain hesitant to make the switch. It's time to finally dispel some common LED myths and get the real facts about these light bulbs so you can choose the best lighting for your home. Myth: LED light bulbs aren't worth the cost. Fact: LED light bulbs are now only a few dollars more than ordinary light bulbs; significant research and development from manufacturers like Philips Lighting has made LED light bulbs more affordable. Although the initial cost of an LED may be slightly higher than an incandescent light bulb, making the switch to LED lighting provides significant long-term savings. For example, the Philips A19 LED with a warm glow dimming effect has an average lifetime of 25,000 hours. This means if you have a light bulb on for three hours per day, then it will be 20 years before you need to change it. Plus, LEDs use up to 90 percent less energy than ordinary light bulbs; replacing incandescent bulbs with LED lighting will reduce your energy bill. Myth: LED light bulbs are not bright enough. Fact: LEDs can emit the same amount of light as incandescent bulbs while using far less energy. Many consumers look at the wattage of a light bulb to determine its level of brightness, but wattage only measures how much energy a bulb uses. Light levels are measured in lumens. When you compare lumens, a 9.5-watt Philips LED bulb with a warm glow effect is as bright as a 60-watt incandescent bulb - both emit approximately 800 lumens. Myth: LED light bulbs need time to warm up. Fact: It's a big misunderstanding that LED bulbs need time to warm up before they reach full brightness. While fluorescent or CFL bulbs come on slowly, LEDs are "instantly on" and immediately shine with their full light output. Myth: LED lighting can't be controlled and dimmed. Fact: Unlike many CFL bulbs, most LED light bulbs are designed to easily dim. Dimmable LEDs can provide the right lighting for any mood or room in your home. For instance, the warm glow dimmable light effect in the Philips A19 LED allows light levels to gradually go from everyday functional lighting to a cozy, relaxing warm glow, replicating the effect of an incandescent bulb when dimmed. Armed with the facts, you should feel confident that switching to LED light bulbs will allow you to enjoy hassle-free lighting, see savings in your energy bill and create the right ambiance in your home.

The National Historical Registered Carousel and Golf Course at Weona Park, Pen Argyl will be open Wednesday-Friday evenings 3 P.M.-9 P.M; Saturday and Sundays 12 Noon – 9 P.M., weather permitting. BAHS School Marching Band Uniform Fund Drive
The Bangor Area High School Marching Band uniforms, which are modeled after Her Majesty’s Royal Welsh Guard, pay tribute to the heritage of Bangor, PA. After years of normal wear and tear, the uniforms must be replaced. The new uniforms will continue to use the same style.
The Slater Band Boosters have initiated a fund drive to support this effort. The Boosters will appreciate any donations, small or large, to this cause.
The names of contributors will be acknowledged in concert programs during the 2016-2017 school year. Names of contributors at higher levels will be memorialized on a plaque to be displayed in the theater wing of the high school.

Library's Night at Wendy's The Blue Mountain Community Library will be holding a “Library Night at Wendy’s” Fundraiser on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Wendy’s Restaurant, route 512, Wind Gap, PA will generously donate a portion of all sales that night to the Library in Pen Argyl. Quiet Valley’s Heritage Craft Day
Stroudsburg (PA) – Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm will feature the 10th annual Heritage Craft Day on Saturday, August 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Heritage Craft persons will demonstrate traditional craft skills of the 1800s throughout the day. There will be hands-on opportunities for visitors who wish to try out some of these crafts for themselves.
Demonstrations such as spinning, weaving, wheat weaving, bobbin lace, horn work, pottery and blacksmithing will take place. The purpose of Heritage Craft Day is to provide a greater awareness of these historic folk crafts that were essential to everyday living in previous generations. This is a wonderful chance for individuals, families and children to explore the exciting world of traditional crafts. The crafters are under tents in case of rain. The schedule is subject to change. A presentation of traditional toys and games will take place and visitors will be able to try out various samples for some old fashion fun. A children’s area will offer the younger set an opportunity to craft a simple toy or rag doll for themselves. Bonnie Scott, our master puppeteer, will teach children puppet making. Heritage Craft Day, a part of Quiet Valley’s summer “Art from the Heart” series, is supported by a Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts Project Stream grant. Heritage Craft Day is included in the regular admission price of $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children ages 3 – 12 and children two and under are free. Farm tours are available throughout the day on Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The bake oven will be in operation. There will also be wagon rides for a small fee, weather permitting. Gravestone Preservation Presentation
The Slate Belt Heritage Center will hold their monthly historic presentation on Thursday, August 11, At 7:00 PM. Speaker for the evening will be historian John O’Brien who will be giving a talk on gravestone and monument preservation and repair. Topics being covered are cleaning, the reading of gravestones and using mirrors. He will also discuss the different types of repairs he has undertaken. Mr. O’Brien is an amateur conservator who repairs gravestones and monuments as a hobby. He has repaired several hundred monuments/gravestones and mainly works in in the Warren and Hunterdon county New Jersey area. The presentation will include pictures from the cemeteries in Lebanon , Stewartsville and Seller cemeteries.

State Reps. Joe Emrick (R-Nazareth) and Marcia Hahn (R-Bushkill Township) are teaming up with the Lehigh Valley Aging in Place Coalition to host “Your Aging Parents and You – Beginning the Important Conversation of What We Want as We Age.” The seminar is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 11, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Holy Family Club, 515 W. Mauch Chunk St., Nazareth.

The COTA festival begins on Friday night at the Dutot Museum at 6:00 PM with a musically themed art show and reception, followed by theater, dance, poetry and classical music at the Presbyterian Church of the Mountain from 7:00 - 9:30 PM . Bethlehem Celtic Fest 2016
BETHLEHEM, Pennsylvania, — The Celtic Cultural Alliance (CCA) will reach its 29th year of presenting the largest free Highland Games and Celtic festival in North America during the weekend of September 23rd through the 30th. This year brings back old Celtic Classic favorites such as Timlin & Kane, Seven Nations and the Glengarry Bhoys as well as new features like Low Lily, Moxie Strings, Barrule & Calan. From bagpipes to bodrahns, fiddles to whistles, Bethlehem will be filled with foot stomping Celtic music all weekend.
